There are many great reasons for having a yard sale. Some people have yard sales before they move so they don’t have to pack and ship belongings they aren’t using. Sometimes they are updating the look of their home and sell their old belongings to make money and room for the new ones. Sometimes your children just grow like weeds and rapidly outgrow both their clothes and their toys.
When I look at architecture and design magazines, I am always overwhelmed at the elegance and pageantry of their interior. The foyer, living room and dining room mostly boast of chandelier lighting as their main source of illumination in the room. Knowing that each chandelier costs about a low-cost house here in the Philippines, I can only gasp at their grandeur.
Being able to eat, work, knit, listen to music, and write without leaving the comfy confines of your bed is heaven. So enjoy this luxury by keeping things to a minimum and opening as much space within the area as possible. For starters, go for picture frames that can be clipped on the headboard. This gives you extra space on the side table for snack jars, three of your favorite books, and a box of CDs too. Put craft materials, the CD player, and other pieces inside the drawers. No need to get up for your files and laptop — boxes under the bed make for easy access and storage.
