Colon Cleansing
Is colon cleansing needed? Is it safe? I have here a short article which tackles about colon cleansing. Read on!
Colon cleansing, also known as colon therapy, encompasses a number of alternative medical therapies intended to remove feces and nonspecific toxins from the colon and intestinal tract. Colon cleansing may take the form of colon hydrotherapy, also called a colonic or colonic irrigation, or oral cleansing regimens such as dietary supplements.
Some forms of colon hydrotherapy use enemas to inject water, sometimes mixed with herbs or with other liquids, into the colon via the rectum using special equipment. Oral cleaning regimes use dietary fiber, herbs, dietary supplements, or laxatives.
Colon cleansing is not necessary as the body naturally removes waste material. However, in order for them to perform a colonoscopy, they have to clean the colon out of any accumulation and old feces attached to the lining of the colon. Colon cleansing may disrupt the balance between bacteria and natural chemicals in the bowel, and may interfere with the colon’s ability to shed dead cells. Enemas and colonic irrigation can also cause problems if done too frequently such as future constipation and disruption of regular bowel movements.
You better ask your doctor first before doing this kind of process.
