I admit that finding a job is really difficult. Based on my experience, one cannot easily land a good job. Well, it depends. First thing I’ve noticed is most employers need job seekers who already have job experiences. If that’s the case, what will happen to the fresh graduates? Duh.

Someone asked me about my job experience. So here it goes. At first, I wasn’t able to land a good job. Sad to say, I’m a computer engineering graduate but I applied in all types of field — teller in the bank, marketing officer in a mall, a call center agent, and so much more. Yeah, that’s reality and I have no choice but to deal with it. At first, I landed a job as a call center agent here in our place but it only took me 3-4 months. Too much pressure + graveyard shift + I always end up getting sick + I didn’t really liked the job that’s why I decided to quit. Later on, I found what I’ve been looking for. I decided to work home-based and at the same time I continued applying my skills with programming, making sites and doing computer jobs too. I’ve been into this for more than 2 years already and I really, really love this job!

With their flowing blonde hair, hourglass figures and slender, toned legs, they could easily pass for twins. Both look fabulous in their matching polka dot dresses and, as Janet and Jane Cunliffe happily recount, potential boyfriends often struggle to tell them apart.

Hardly surprising, as both weigh in at 8st and, save for a couple of inches in height (at 5ft 6in, Jane is two inches taller) and different eye colours (Jane’s are brown, Janet’s are blue) they are virtually identical.

But Janet and Jane are not twins. They aren’t even sisters. They are mother and daughter. And, in what many will see as a depressing indictment of today’s youth-obsessed society, Janet confesses to having spent more than £10,000 on plastic surgery in a desperate effort to bridge the 22-year age gap between herself and her daughter.

Last January 31, Sunday was the 2nd birthday of Chino, John’s half brother. Me and the whole gang attended the birthday party at around 3:30pm. It was held at the Benjamin Hall, at the back of Mister Donut — Lacson. When we arrived at the said venue, the place was wonderful. There were lots of decorations and stuffs — balloons of different shapes, inflatable castle, basketball booth (same as those found at the amusement centers), Sorbetes (ice cream) booth, and so much more. It was really bonggacious! (What a term!) LOL. There were lots of guests too. And everyone seems to be enjoying the party. Oh, the theme of Chino’s birthday party is Disney Princes and Princesses. Hihi. Most of the kids were wearing cute prince and princess costumes! Unfortunately, my Lil Kimy wasn’t able to wear any princess attire. Booo.

A pair of Crocs, a cute watch and some educational books — these are the gifts we brought for Lil Chino. At first we we’re planning to give him lots of toys, but for a change we chose those stuffs instead. Hmm, I bet Chino will surely love all of it.

Gummy candy is one of my favorite sweet treats! Everytime I go to any candy store, I make sure I buy a pack of gummy candies — bears, worms, etc. Yumyum!

Since I love cooking or preparing foods, I decided to make my own gummy candies. Making these sweet treats is easy as counting 1-2-3. All you need is a flavored gelatin, unflavored gelatin, water and some molds. Here are the complete ingredients:

1 package flavored gelatin

6 packages unflavored gelatin

1/2 cup cold water

Food coloring (optional)

Superfine sugar (optional)

Candy molds

Here are the steps in making homemade gummy candies:

Mix the unflavored gelatin and the flavored gelatin together in a saucepan.

Stir in 1/2 cup of cold water. Keep stirring the mixture until it turns into a soft ball or glob. For a deeper color gummy candy, add a few drops of food color to the mixture when you add the cold water. Use the food coloring that matches the color of the flavored gelatin, if desired.

Heat the mixture in the saucepan on a medium temperature making sure to keep stirring until all of the gelatin has dissolved.

Pour the gelatin mixture into the candy molds. If you want a light sugar coating on your gummy candies, sprinkle superfine sugar lightly over it when you place them in the molds.

Put the molds into the freezer for 10 minutes, allowing them to cool.

Remove the molds from the freezer and pop your gummy candies out of the candy molds.

Store your gummy candies in an airtight container or plastic storage bag with a zip closure.
